01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Shaped with an airy touch rather than pressed firmly, each rice ball is gently enveloped in crisp nori seaweed, so the warm grains effortlessly separate on the palate. At the counter of Onigiri Bongo Itabashi, these generously sized parcels are crafted to order, arriving fresh and warm before you.

The menu features an extensive selection ranging from time-honored classics to inventive specialties. Among the most sought-after is the sujiko (salted salmon roe), whose rich umami and brine accentuate the natural sweetness of the rice. Specialty combinations make full use of the shop's strengths: pairing savory soy sauce-cured egg yolk with sweet-savory minced meat, or layering flaked salmon with sujiko, all packed generously from the center to the edges.

A bowl of hot miso soup completes the meal. Guests can choose between tofu or nameko mushroom broth, and lunch sets come with free refills, offering ample opportunity to enjoy the soothing dashi between bites of warm rice.

Beyond dining in for lunch or dinner, the shop accommodates takeout, making it an easy stop whether you have time to linger at the counter or need a quick meal on the go.
